A handsome and substantial vintage Edinburgh Crystal whisky service, comprising a square spirit decanter with matching faceted stopper and a full set of six tumblers, all cut in a classic Scottish pattern most likely identifiable as Lomond. Retained in its original Edinburgh Crystal presentation boxes and still bearing original labels, the set presents as an especially well-preserved example of late 20th-century British luxury barware.

The design is confident and architectural, with deeply cut fan and diamond motifs that catch the light beautifully against the heavy clear crystal. The square decanter has a pleasingly weighty presence, balanced by a bold faceted stopper, while the six tumblers repeat the same cut to create a coherent and highly decorative suite. Altogether, it is a refined and very usable set, equally suited to a drinks cabinet, library, study, or formal entertaining setting.

There is a particular appeal in the survival of the original branded presentation boxes, lined in Edinburgh Crystal’s rich purple satin, which lend the set an unmistakably gift-quality and almost ceremonial character. With Edinburgh Crystal now a closed name in British glassmaking, complete boxed services of this type carry an added sense of period identity and collectors’ interest.

This example appears unused, retaining its original labels and showing no signs of having entered regular service. It is therefore an unusually crisp surviving set, offering both decorative presence and practical function in one of the most enduring formats of traditional whisky barware.

Condition
Presented in unused vintage condition. The decanter, stopper and all six tumblers retain their original labels and show no signs of use noted on inspection.
