This auction is for a scarce and highly collectible 1941 Chanel Novelty Co brooch, produced during the company's brief use of the script "Chanel" signature before it was renamed Reinad Novelty Co. following a trademark dispute with the House of Chanel.  This limited production period makes these pieces especially desirable among advanced vintage costume jewelry collectors. This gorgeous flower bouquet brooch features a dramatic sculptural ribbon bow, accented with sparkling clear pave rhinestones, hand-painted pinkish white and blue enamel, vivid green stems, and luminous gray-white moonstone style cabochons forming the flower.  The dimensional design is a beautiful example of early 1940's American costume jewelry craftsmanship.  The brooch measures 3" from top to bottom and is in great vintage condition with some enamel loss on the ribbon, as would be expected with a brooch this age.  I do not see any missing tiny rhinestones along the edge of the "ribbon", but some could be discolored slightly from age.   PLEASE NOTE:  Although all my jewelry listings will be marked that returns are not accepted (due to eBay's change of policy from 14 day returns to 30 days), if an item is damaged in shipment or there are any condition issues that I missed, please send me a note and a photograph.  No returns will be accepted without a photograph.   We will not accept returns because an item "does not fit" or because the buyer "changed their mind".  We only ship our jewelry in a box, so be sure to check out our other listings and our eBay store items (over 3850, all on sale).  Several pieces of jewelry will ship for the same price as one piece, or jewelry can ship with larger pieces at no extra cost.  We don’t mark up our items by a great amount, so reasonable offers only please on store items. We do have a layaway plan available for items or groups of items totaling $200 or more.   I am happy to ship to third party shippers for my international clients as well.   Great low starting bid, and being sold with NO RESERVE!
