The "Hinode" mark on Moriyama porcelain signifies it was made during the Occupied Japan period (1945-1952). Moriyama also used other marks, such as a crown with a wreath stamped as "Moriyama Hand Paint Japan," or a bouquet of flowers marked "Moriyama Made in Japan". Pieces without a company mark but with "made in Japan" are also believed to be from this post-WWII period. After the Noritake Morimura Gumi period that ended 1946, the factory changed name to Hinode Shokai.
