The piece appears to have originally been a promotional poster or display and shows deterioration that occurred prior to framing, suggesting it may have previously been displayed before being graciously signed and professionally preserved.
The reverse features a sticker identifying the framing as completed by Cunningham Gallery/Picture Frame Shop in Hilo, Hawaii. After correspondence with the gallery, it was confirmed that the frame is constructed from koa wood, a locally harvested and milled Hawaiian hardwood prized for its beauty and connection to the islands. The gallery also confirmed that the logo found on the framing label was used from 1990 through 2015, helping establish the timeframe in which the piece was framed.
