Excellent Condition - Mixed Bag

DESCRIPTION. For your viewing pleasure is very nice, Vintage, Donruss Original Odd Rods Mixed Bag of Nine (9) trading cards. This set was issued by Donruss, in 1969. The cards are in Fair, to Excellent, condition. Some cards have lightly touched corners, some have a lightly soiled (tanned) front/back, some have minor soiling, and some have roller marks. All are free of extraneous markings, and are firmly attached to their backs. They are in very nice condition for cards over 50 years old. Even so, please see the attached pictures showing the details. You will receive the following Original Odd Rod trading cards.

1. #1 - Big Daddy. Signature Card of the Series. Nice card. Lightly touched corners. Yellowing to front and back.

2. #11 - Imported Animal. Very nice. Sharp corners. Clean Front and Back. Does have two roller marks on right side.

3. #11 - Imported Animal. Very nice. Sharp corners. Clean Front and Back. Does have two roller marks running across it.

4. #14 - Chrome Coffin. Front has a bit of gum residue. Back has soiling, which looks like dirty ink rollers.

5. #30 - Chevy Killer. Overall nice card. Does have slight yellowing to front and back, but very clean.

6. #35 - Happiness is a Low ET. Overall nice card. Does have slight yellowing to front and back, but pretty clean.

7. #42 - Panic Mouse. Very nice. A couple of thin roller marks on front. Back is very clean, but off-center.

BACKGROUND. There really isn't a lot of information regarding the development of the Donruss Odd Rods series of 'Monsters in Hod Rods' Trading Cards. Donruss issued several sets, in the 1969 to 197? timeframe;

1. Odder Odd Rods (1970 - 66 stickers)

2. Silly Cycles (1970 - 66 stickers featuring Monsters on Motorcycles)

3. Oddest Odd Rods (1970 - 66 stickers, numbered 67-132, with many having Fan Art on the back)

4. Odd Rods All Stars (1971 - 66 stickers reprinted from the previous three series)

5. Fabulous Odd Rods (1973 - a reprint of Odder Odd Rods)

6. Fantastic Odd Rods Series 1 (1973 - a reprint of Oddest Odd Rods, with Pink highlights/edging)

7. Fantastic Odd Rods Series 2 (1973? - 66 new stickers numbered 1-66).

8. Fiends and Machines (197? - 33 Fiends and 33 Machines (Cars), whereby you can interchange the Fiends with the Machines)

I personally remember collecting the first four sets - Odd Rods (1969), Odder Odd Rods (1970), Silly Cycles (1970), and Oddest Odd Rods, when I was a boy of 7 or 8 - Where does the time go?
