Vintage 1968 Red Hoppity Hop inflatable bouncing toy made by Sun Corporation of Barberton, Ohio. This classic red vinyl ball features a sturdy molded ring handle and inflation valve, allowing it to be ridden and bounced just like the original space hoppers from the late 1960s. The Hoppity Hop was one of the most popular active toys of its time, designed to help kids build coordination, balance, and even lung strength through bouncing exercise and play. The person I purchased it from said he bought it for his daughter when she was little to help strengthen her lungs, which adds a nice bit of personal history to this vintage toy. The toy is made of rugged vinyl material and was advertised to inflate up to around 20 to 25 inches in diameter. This example is red and maintains that bright retro look that collectors love.
