Platinum 70s Fountain Pen 18K Extra Fine Nib, Sticker is an elegant "pocket-size" fountain pen in classic black and gold from Platinum, Japan's high-class pen maker. This pen was introduced in 1970 and had the model number PKB-2000. This pen has a distinctive gold wave cap band that tells people in an instant that you are writing with a classic Japanese Platinum pen. The clip is the spring type that adjusts to the thickness of your pocket, purse, or pen pouch. This pen comes with its original price sticker. Pocket-size pens were very popular in Japan from the '60s to the '70s and are highly collectible today. They had short barrels and long caps which made them short when capped for carrying, and full size when the cap was posted for writing.

*About the nib: PLATINUM NIBS"
Pocket pens were very successful and became a workhorse in the lineup of the companies. Platinum, on its side, showed this by implementing a wide variety of nib points in them.
Pocket pen nibs were one of the few specialty nibs that Platinum featured on their vintage pocket pens
Other specialty nibs such as music, script, or sign nibs and pocket pen nibs were created to satisfy certain kinds of needs. The nibs are completely rigid and typically used for writing with relatively heavy pressure such as carbon copy paper.
In 1866 people used carbon paper where, and when writing on the paper created multiple copies. But at that time ballpoint pens were not invented yet, so a business that uses carbon paper often such as the locomotive industry, for administration purposes needed a fountain pen, rigid enough to be able to write deep so the carbon paper can record many copies of the text
Hence, the Pocket fountain pen nib is very sturdy and rigid and perfect for hard-pressed writers

This pen's overall condition is good for a vintage fountain pen. Fortunately, aside from some small visible wear and tear the pen was well taken care off. The Gold trim and clip have been cleaned but have lost its golden hue due to discoloration over time. The pen writes extremely well, is super wet for a fine, suitable for daily writing. There is no rust on the clip, trim, or the gold-coated parts of the pen.
This is a discontinued Rose design that is quite rare to find
This pen is obtained from a second-hand market.
Overall The Pen is in B-tier condition! Please see the picture to check the pens condition!
Please treat the pen with the utmost care, if you do not know what you are doing, please refrain from opening hinges or things that might appear untightened, due to the age of this pen and hard contact or excessive force exerted on the pen damaging the pen.

All our pens are original and authentic because they're sourced directly from the owners of fountain pen collectors, factory owners in the 40s who's sons/daughters have sold their grandparent's fountain pen old stock and hence cant be sourced online. But for an even more detailed description of our pens condition, we have provided a grade tier list to help you determine if this is the pen for you
S Tier - Almost like Brand New: This pen is in exceptional condition, almost as if it were brand new. There are no signs of rust on the clip, and the original filling system is still intact and does not require replacement. The cap and piston filler, if applicable, screw on and off smoothly without any difficulties. The nib color is vivid with limited to no scratches. Any hairline scratches are barely visible, and there are no cracks on the pen. The pen feels smooth, polished, and shiny.
A Tier - Excellent Condition: This pen is in excellent condition with only minor flaws. There may be small chips on the nib, but no rust is present. Hairline scratches may be visible on the body, cap, and nib. The nib color remains consistent, although small scratches may be seen upon close inspection. The pen can be easily screwed on and off, and the filling system works properly. The original filling system is intact with no cracks on the body of the pen. The pen still feels smooth, polished, and shiny.
B Tier - Good Condition: This pen is in good condition and is perfectly usable. It may have some rust on the clip and trim. The nib color may have changed due to weathering or ink stains. The filling system has been replaced with a new one, possibly because the original one had hardened over time and needed replacement. There are no cracks on the pen, but there may be hairline scratches present.
C Tier - Fair Condition: This pen is in fair condition and is functional, but it has noticeable scratches on the body and cap. The trim may be rusted or chipped. Although there are no cracks, the filling system also requires replacement. The nib color may have changed, or the nib itself may have been re-polished.
F Tier - Poor Condition: This pen is still writable, but it is cosmetically in a terrible state. A major refurbishment has been conducted to restore the pen to an acceptable condition, but in the process, many of its original characteristics have been lost.
Please note that this item condition grade is based on general standards and may vary depending on the specific criteria and expectations of different collectors or sellers.
