Offering a rare and unusual early tin matchbox marked with stamped words, "PARAGON WAX MATCH" - BOCK - GENIN & CO. NEW YORK.

The curious thing is why there's no striker surface provided on the box? The matches require some form of igniting mechanism.
There's another possibility, though, and a few knowledgeable lighter collectors might ask if this box held fresh rolls of a very rare form of match that requires a special mechanical device to use these unique Wax Matches that are made in rolls that are inserted into the "Wax Lighter" as Alias Koopman called his brand of the super rare "VICTORIA" WAX LIGHTER - known to collectors.

It's only a guess, but it says "WAX MATCH" on the package, and that variety of Lighter was available around the 1890s. The absence of a striker is odd, as the expectation would wonder why it's not there. So, a mystery that might be solved one day?

Shipping

The shipping cost will be the actual cost as calculated by the post office. There is NO handling charge, with the exception of high-dollar items that require a signature, which will have an actual cost handling charge.
I take great care in carefully packaging your purchase so that it will arrive safe and sound. Items are usually shipped via the USPS, and larger items are shipped via FedEx Ground.

Items are usually shipped within 1 business day of payment, weather permitting. Here in the Mojave Desert, we are subject to sudden changes in weather, which sometimes include high winds, power outages, flash floods, and even snow (JT does not own a snow plow), making travel difficult.

Terms of Sale

I do my best to fully and accurately describe all items for sale. If I overlook, fail to mention or show a significant flaw in the listing, upon verification of the returned item, we will gladly refund the item cost.

Return Procedure:
Please contact us via eBay's messaging within 3 days of receiving purchase and prior to returning the item for approval.
Item must be returned in the same condition as when I shipped & within 14 days of receipt.
Returns are not accepted for wearing apparel or change of mind.
