Please see photos-head looks to have been glued back on.  There is a crack in the base.

PLEASE NOTE----I HAVE NO INFORMATION ABOUT THIS PIECE.  I am in NO WAY an expert.  I found this while at a thrift store and bought it because I thought it was interesting.  I do NOT know if this is an old piece or new or somewhere in between.  I don't know where it actually came from and have spent only about 15 minutes trying to figure it out.
