Original copperplate engraved title page from Giovanni Battista Piranesi’s celebrated work Le Antichità Romane (The Roman Antiquities of Rome), Volume IV (Tomo Quarto).

This large folio engraving features Piranesi’s dramatic architectural composition incorporating Roman ruins, monumental stonework, sculptural figures, and the title cartouche. The plate bears the engraved inscription “Piranesi Arch. inv. e scolp.”

Printed on laid paper with visible plate mark. A genuine period impression from one of the most influential archaeological and architectural publications of the 18th century.
