Up now is this beautifully strange Phish Los Angeles Forum 2016 Artist Edition concert poster by British illustrator Sam Chivers, created for Phish’s July 22, 2016 performance at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

Chivers transforms the legendary Forum into an overgrown psychedelic civilization filled with geometric temples, glowing chambers, wandering birds, strange vegetation, and enormous architectural letters spelling PHISH across the landscape. It looks like Phish booked a concert inside a forgotten jungle city and neglected to tell anyone how to get home. In other words, pretty much perfect.

This is the exceptionally scarce Artist Edition, individually numbered #45/50 AE. It is separate from the standard show edition of 850 and was released through Posters & Toys following the concert. Only 50 Artist Edition copies were produced, making this substantially scarcer than the version originally sold at the venue.

The poster is an 18" x 24" offset lithograph with deeply saturated greens, electric pink accents, intricate architectural details, and Chivers’ circular Sam Chivers Brighton studio chop in the lower-right image area. It is hand-numbered “45/50 AE” in the lower margin. This edition is numbered but not signed.

Condition: New/Mint. Corners are clean, edges are sharp, and there is no visible damage. Stored flat in archival conditions since purchase. Ships with museum-level protection in acid-free wrap and a rigid tube, fully insured.

About the Artist: Sam Chivers is a British illustrator, printmaker, and graphic artist known for building surreal worlds out of architecture, natural forms, mythology, and bold geometric design. His work has appeared in projects for major publishing, editorial, entertainment, and cultural clients. This Phish poster is an excellent example of his ability to make a recognizable location feel like an artifact discovered in some alternate universe. About the Concert: Phish’s July 22, 2016 Forum performance delivered a broad, career-spanning setlist that included “The Moma Dance,” “Blaze On,” “Stash,” “Run Like an Antelope,” “Fuego,” “Prince Caspian,” “Waves,” “Rock and Roll,” and a nearly 20-minute “You Enjoy Myself.” “Paul and Silas” returned after a 107-show absence, and the three-song encore featured “Boogie On Reggae Woman,” “Bouncing Around the Room,” and “Golgi Apparatus.” It was a deep Friday-night Phish show inside one of Southern California’s most historic venues.
