Created for TAB’s September 30, 2022 performance at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium in Riverside, California, the artwork draws directly from the region’s celebrated citrus-growing history. Gonzalez reimagines the poster as an ornate vintage orange-crate label, complete with ripe citrus, curling vines, sunlit California hills, and a psychedelic landscape that looks like it has been fertilized with equal parts sunshine, funk, and extremely patient guitar solos.

This is an original 18" × 24" screenprint, individually hand-numbered #20/35 from a remarkably small edition. Rich orange, green, blue, purple, silver, and chocolate-brown inks give the image the warm, tactile character of a vintage agricultural advertisement while keeping one foot planted firmly in modern concert-poster culture.

About the Artist: Nate Gonzalez is a Los Angeles illustrator and screenprinter working under the name Nate Moon Life. He describes his work as art for the “Cosmic Counter-Culture,” which is a pretty accurate summary of his colorful mixture of music, California psychedelia, vintage commercial design, and interstellar weirdness. Gonzalez designs and hand-screenprints his work in Los Angeles, producing posters for artists including Trey Anastasio Band, The Cure, Paul McCartney, Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Brittany Howard, and Umphrey’s McGee.

About the Show: Trey Anastasio Band played two full sets at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium on September 30, 2022. The evening opened with “Money, Love and Change” and moved through “Party Time,” “No Men in No Man’s Land,” “46 Days,” “Gotta Jibboo,” “Set Your Soul Free,” “Sand,” and “Ghosts of the Forest.” The encore paired “Heavy Things” with “Ghost,” because sometimes subtlety is overrated and the correct answer is simply more Trey.
