GLG Bearing Upgrade for Rear Height Adjusters
-For John Deere Silver 14SB/14SE/14SC/14SX mowers after serial 175000
-Also For JX75 before serial 200,000
-2 bearings included (one for each side)
-There is no hole for grease in the bearings like the stock bushing. I have found the hole to be clogged over time anyway as grease hardens and blocks the hole. Grease must be applied to the bearings just before installing.
-This upgrades the rear height adjusters to have bearings instead of bushings
-On my Deere mowers, I have had the stock bushings wear out and cause other parts to fail, resulting in having to get replacement height adjusters or a transmission. If left unchecked, the transmission shaft will wear completely through the bushings, damaging the height adjuster or reducing the diameter of the transmission
-These are installed by using a benchtop vise along with a large socket (about 13/16" to 1 inch) to press/push out the old bushing while pressing in the bearing.
