This is a beautiful finely woven vintage French tapestry wall hanging dating mid 1900's.  It would add a sublime château chic finishing touch to a room.

It depicts an idyllic waterside scene and is after a Corot painting. To the right there is a charming family in the foreground. The two children are filling a basket with flowers and foliage. The mother stretches up to pull a climber from a dead tree.

To the left a man calmly punts his boat through the water while a woman waves flowers at him from the bank. 

All around is beautiful foliage and fabulous trees which reflect on the water's surface.

The colours are serene greens and browns with touches of red, blue and lilac in the costumes.

Around this splendour is a sewn border with scrolled leaves.

The tapestry is lined and has metal fittings on the back for hanging purposes.

It is of good quality and is in good vintage condition. There are some pin holes at the top where it must have once been attached to something (please see photos). These are tiny & do not draw the eye. 

The  tapestry is finely woven in cotton in wonderful detail.

The tapestry measures :- 210 cm (6 ft 10.6 inches) wide x 94 cm (3 ft 1 inches) high.
