[Toru Ichikawa]
Born in Tokyo in 1973
Studied under ceramic artist Ryuichi Kakizaki in 2011
Established his own studio in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture in 2015
Since his first solo exhibition in 2016, he has produced numerous works that overturn the conventional concept of Bizen ware. His work is characterized by vibrant reds reminiscent of flowing blood, and stylish, metallic blacks and gold and silver hues. He has held solo exhibitions at galleries and department stores both domestically and internationally, and has also exhibited his works at numerous art fairs.
