Up for sale is a wonderful, authentic lot of ten (10) vintage 1920s Valentine's Day greeting cards. This matching estate collection features iconic pop-culture themes of the flapper and silent-film era, including references to early commercial radio, Charlie Chaplin's famous "Tramp" character, and a larger mechanical easel-back card by the highly collectible Carrington Co. of Chicago.
Most of these are classic 1920s die-cut "split-hinge" (dual-tab) top-fold or side-fold cards with vibrant full-color lithography on both the outside covers and backs, featuring simple black-and-white line drawings inside. None of the cards have ink writing or text on the interiors.

  1. Girl with Kitten: Heart-shaped top fold. Excellent vintage condition with sharp, clean edges. [1]
  2. Boy and Girl on Picnic: Heart-shaped top fold. Excellent vintage condition with sharp, clean edges. [1]
  3. Boy and Girl in Kitchen (Radio Theme): Heart-shaped top fold. Inner text features the early radio broadcast poem ("Tune in with your heart"). Good condition; has been folded/creased horizontally across the front and back.
  4. Girl Angel Holding Heart: Heart-shaped top fold. Fair condition. Top right section is torn across the hinge tab (hanging on by the left section). Features black marks and stains inside from old tape/sticky residue.
  5. Girl Holding Heart (Recruiting Theme - Duplicate A): Heart-shaped top fold. Inside features a boy leaving a WWI-style recruiting station with the poem "Here's my seal and sign". Excellent condition.
  6. Girl Holding Heart (Recruiting Theme - Duplicate B): Exact duplicate of Card #5. Heart-shaped top fold. Excellent condition.
  7. Boy Holding Valentine: Rectangular card with side fold. Inside features a girl dressed as Charlie Chaplin's iconic "Tramp" character. Excellent condition.
  8. Girl Sitting on Grass: Rectangular card with side fold. Good condition with light, natural vintage dusty spotting/foxing on the inside and out.
  9. Girl Outside Cottage/Schoolhouse: Rectangular card with side fold. Inside features a girl holding a rag doll with a fairytale castle background. Excellent condition.
  10. BONUS CARD - Carrington Co. Mechanical Goat Novelty: Larger postcard-style card printed by Carrington Co. (Chicago, ILL). Features a goat eating a red, white, and blue dress with the pun "You've Sure Got My Goat". Good condition with sharp edges and normal signs of age. Includes the original fold-out paper desk stand glued to the back, which features a vintage pencil signature reading: "From Elizabeth Duffield With Love".
Shipping & Handling:
