Japan Lacquer Wooden Tea caddy Takakuwa Sensai Itomaki-Natsume w/box

Description

This is an *itomaki natsume* (spool-motif tea caddy) in near-mint condition.

It is a work by Takakuwa Sensai and comes with its original signed wooden box (*tomobako*).

The body of the vermilion-lacquer *chū-natsume* (medium-sized tea caddy) features a gold relief design of a thread spool.
The interior is finished in *shin-nuri* (plain black lacquer).

The artist's carved signature appears on the bottom.

There is no damage such as stains, cracks, or chips, though please allow for minor surface scuffs.

The original box is also in excellent condition.
