This is a reproduction of the first Winchester .45-60 box, which appeared in their 1880 catalog. Made for 1876 Centennial models chambered in the .45-60 WCF which began production the previous year in 1879. Like all Winchester cartridges before 1885, it features a cartridge with no head stamp on the front lid label. I have included a picture of an original box for comparison.
These rifle cartridge boxes with the interior dividers require more material and are quite time-consuming to reproduce, hence I will only be making a very few of these and they will be priced slightly higher than my other two-piece reproduction boxes.
All of the boxes I've recreated all date to the 1860's - 1880's and are what collectors now, for obvious reasons, refer to as "picture boxes." These are not photocopies or printed from pictures I've Googled. These are high resolution, digital recreations and the labels are professionally printed.
Buyer pays fixed shipping.
Let me know if you have questions or need further pictures. Auction is for one box.
****UPDATE**** Due to the fluctuation in chipboard availability I'm being forced to limit my stock and make most cartridges boxes to order. Because of this, I'm having to extend my handling time to 5 days instead of 3. HOWEVER, most orders will continue to ship with in 1-3 days. But larger orders with multiple boxes may take 4-5 days. I will try to keep some of the better sellers on hand, but the availability of materials will ultimately determine what can be stocked. Thank you for your patience and don't hesitate to contact me if you need something quickly.
