Wells Fargo ephemera: Die Cut, Embossed Metal Door Push. This attractive 4" x 10" brass and copper shell plaque is titled "Wells Fargo Company's Stage Express Routes". It depicts, in a graphic manner, the stops along the line from Nevada City to Coulterville, California. It was manufactured by Abbot Downing Company of Concord, New Hampshire. The embossed metalwork has beautiful toning. This item is not authenticated, but could date around 1890-1900. It could serve dual purpose as a ledger mark, a paperweight for invoices and receipts or a screen door push.. It is temporarily mounted on wood (wood is damaged but door push is intact) as a gift plaque. Very unique item for the history buff, or California history aficionado.
