Vintage Japanese Lacquer Musical Jewellery Box - Black and Red Landscape

Pre-owned vintage condition and would benefit from some TLC/restoration. There are marks and scratches consistent with age and use, and there is damage to the back of the box (please see photos). The music mechanism is working and plays. A key is present, however the lock does not appear to be functional. The interior mirror shows some age-related patina/spotting.
