Up for Sale is a Vintage C.D. Peacock Paul Revere Reproduction Silver plate Bowl - 640H
Description:
Vintage, mid-20th century (circa 1930s-1960s) bowl in the "Paul Revere" style - the plain, footed shape based on the famous Colonial-era bowl crafted by silversmith Paul Revere. This piece was retailed by C.D. Peacock, Chicago's historic jeweler (est. 1837).
Not sure who is the manufacturer of this bowl. The three cursive letters bellow the cursive CD Peacock mark could be the manufacturer. I am not sure if the three cursive letters are EPS or IPS:
If it is EPS, according to the internet, The "EPC" mark on your silverplate bowl stands for Electro Plated Copper. This indicates the bowl is made of a base metal (copper) with a thin layer of silver applied over it through an electroplating
process.
If it is IPS,I according to the internet, An "IPC" mark on a silverplate bowl typically stands for International Silver Company, a major American manufacturer formed in 1898. It indicates that the bowl is not solid sterling silver, but rather a base metal coated with a layer of pure silver
Markings on base: C.D. Peacock (script) / EPC or IPC / 640H / "P. Revere Reproduction"
