Department 56's Birch Bark collection features a rustic, nature-inspired design and is made of durable, functional ceramic. This pattern is discontinued and was primarily produced in the late 1980s and 1990s in Japan.
The collection is known for its realistic look, featuring hand-painted designs of birch tree stumps, bark, and knobs. The design is meant to evoke a cabin or rustic aesthetic.
The pieces are made from fine ceramics with baked-in colors. Due to the handmade nature of the ceramics, each piece is slightly different, adding to its unique charm, much like real birch logs and bark.
The Birch Bark collection includes a wide array of items beyond standard plates and bowls, allowing for a comprehensive, themed table setting.
Available pieces I have listed include:
9” platters
Butter dish with lid
