This auction is for a beautiful antique Reed & Barton silver plated butter dish complete with butter knife, dating to the late Victorian, early Edwardian period (1890 to 1910). This elegant table piece features a removable domed lid with finial, an ornate pierced handle, very decorative embossed base with a dog head in profile, and cast cow form side handles. The dish rests on three decorative feet. The silver plate has a nice patina and there are two dark stripes that I could not get off. I have photographed one. This is an exquisite butter dish and knife--and love the cows! This piece measures almost 14 1/4" tall and is a little over 9" across. The butter knife is a Wm. J. Rogers knife. No dents. PLEASE NOTE: Although all my jewelry listings will be marked that returns are not accepted (due to eBay's change of policy from 14 day returns to 30 days). If an item is damaged in shipment or there are any condition issues that I missed, please send me a note and a photograph. No returns will be accepted without a photograph. We will not accept returns because an item "does not fit" or because the buyer "changed their mind". Be sure to check out our other listings and our eBay store items (over 3950, all on sale). We don’t mark up our items by a great amount, so reasonable offers only please for store items. We do have a layaway plan available for items or groups of items totaling $200 or more. I am happy to ship to third party shippers for my international clients. Great low starting bid, and being sold with NO RESERVE.
