This is a beautiful vintage Greek Orthodox miniature icon depicting Saint Demetrios (Agios Dimitrios) on horseback. Crafted with a 950 silver front cover (clearly stamped "SILVER 950" on the left side), the piece features a highly detailed, traditional Byzantine art replica design.
The back of the icon retains its original orange manufacturer's sticker, which reads in part: "SILVER TRADITION - Precious holy image made of proof, which depicts traditional copy of Byzantine Art. MADE IN GREECE." It is mounted on a black backing and includes a small metal loop at the top for wall hanging.
This item is in vintage, pre-owned condition. The 950 silver overlay shows a beautiful, natural rainbow patina and age-appropriate tarnish that highlights the intricate repoussé details.
