This vintage Murine medicine bottle is probably from the early 1900s. Invented in Chicago in the 1890s, the Murine brand name is no longer used today.
The gold-tone foil label with black lettering reads "MURINE FOR YOUR EYES" The Murine Company, Inc., Chicago, U.S.A NET CONTENTS 400 AMS MADE IN U.S.A. TRADE MARK IN U.S.A...OFF CANADA AND FOREIGN COUNTRIES". The rubber dropper top has raised lettering "PRESS HERE".
Made of clear glass, this small bottle is about 3-3/4 inches tall with its black plastic lid and red rubber dropper top, 3/4 inch wide, and 3/4 inch front-to-back.
It is in fair vintage condition - no chips or cracks in the bottle and the "twist-on" black plastic lid is good. As shown in the photos, the rubber dropper top has hardened and has some cracks. The paper label is mostly intact. These old medicine bottles are always interesting and this one would make a good addition to a collection of antique bottles or medicine or ophthalmic memorabilia or look good displayed all on its own.
