HECTOR HEATHCOTE DOME METAL LUNCHBOX AND METAL/GLASS THERMOS from Aladdin Industries 1964. This very rare R-7 lunchkit features the key characters from the TV cartoon show of the same name. This Terrytoon adventure about a time traveler visiting milestones in history ran for two seasons on NBC in 1963 and 1964. Hector was a bumbling but lucky teenage Patriot whom lived during the America’s War of Independence – and no matter how badly he goofed – things would always turn out right in the end. The artist for this kit is unknown – but they did a truly amazing job in its design with awesome use of color, characters and action in this classic embossed set from the 60s. The depictions of day and night on the main panels are inspired.
Condition: Box and Thermos are complete
and correct (including the original wire thermos holder). Box has no blemishes to the raised areas on the main front and rear panels so typical with these vintage embossed boxes. Side panels are also clean and glossy throughout. Light rim wear on front - a bit heavier on back - with a couple of small corner dimples. Metal hardware is nice and shiny. Inside is clean overall with some blemishes and rubbings - with no previous owner's markings. Box in
overall strong Excellent C-8 condition. Thermos lithos are clean throughout - with no dents or dimples or rattles when shaken - with nice shiny bottom – in overall strong Excellent Plus C-8.5 condition.
