A set of 12 antique Minton English porcelain shallow bowls, with ornate hand-painted gold on a cobalt ground and raised white enamel decoration. The bowls are approximately 7 and 7/8ths inches diameter and have a total height of approximately 1.25 inches. The impressed date cipher dates them to 1879. The bowls were made by Minton for Caldwell here in Philadelphia. The pattern is "G3295" and in Minton pattern numbering a "G" prefix denotes a richly decorated fine (and expensive) tableware pattern that required extensive hand painting and was reserved for the highest quality gilding. All 12 bowls are in excellent condition for their age with no chips, no cracks, just a few utensil marks, minor wear to the decoration, and some dark specks in the porcelain (they were made this way). I have a matching set of 12 plates listed separately. Please see the photos for details. Thank you for looking!
