This copy is from the April 1957 reprint of a manual first published in August 1943 for engineering trade trainees under Commonwealth training schemes.

The manual contains detailed instruction and technical illustrations covering lathe operation, turning processes, threading, knurling, workshop calculations, tooling, engineering practices and general machining procedures. Included are numerous diagrams, tables and reference material relevant to apprentice machinists and engineering students.
