I am delighted to offer for sale this lovely set of teapot sugar bowl and milk jug/creamer, by Aynsley in the very lovely Indian Tree design.

This sets consists of three items:

1 x Teapot - 6.25" from spout to handle, around 3.5" from base to top of finial

1 x Sugar Bowl - Just under 2" tall, 3" wide at rim

1 x Milk jug/creamer - 2.25" tall at highest point, just under 3" from spout to handle

It is important for me to point out that these pieces are unusually small, and I do wonder if they might have come from a breakfast set for two people originally.

Thea teapot is clearly marked with the Aynsley stamp, which I believe dates from 1905-1925, and has the pattern number A1173 painted by hand on the base. The jug is unmarked, and the sugar bowl isn't marked, but does have the pattern number A1173 written by hand on the base.

Condition:

Teapot - No chips, cracks or repairs. Slightly marked to the inside of pot - see photo. Lid is undamaged also. Gilding is very good, with only light losses to the handle and tip of finial. I love the little extra gilt decoration to the spout - I haven't managed to find another with this, making it a bit more unusual.

The jug is in very good condition - no chips, cracks or repairs. Losses to the gilding on the rim and handle.

The bowl is in very good condition - no chips, cracks or repairs. Light marks to the inside, most of which will have occurred during manufacture. See photos. Gilding is good.

When I bought this lot, it came with two saucers, which are in very good undamaged condition, and with the Aynsley stamp and pattern number to the base. Also was one small cup which has been in the wars - handle broken and glued back on, and two hairline cracks to the inside - also with the Aynsley stamp.

It is when considering these extra three pieces that make me think this might have been a breakfast set. If these three extra pieces are of interest, I will happily include them with the others free of charge. Just let me know when placing your order.
