Historical Context of Pee-wee Herman..... and the *Playhouse Fun Pak*

 The character **Pee-wee Herman**, created by **Paul Reubens**, emerged in the late 1970s as an eccentric, childlike character. Originally performed in live comedy shows aimed at adults, Pee-wee parodied the wholesome children's television hosts of the 1950s.

 Everything changed after the success of ***Pee-wee's Big Adventure* (1985)**, directed by Tim Burton. The film's popularity led to the CBS Saturday morning television series ***Pee-wee's Playhouse***, whichdebuted in 1986.

PROVENANCE:  "Digger" style estate sale on 14 May 2026, 5425 Via Del Valle; Torrance, California 90505, home built in 1955.

CAUTIONS:

1. The cards are NOT in sealed packs.

2. The cards are copyright, Herman's Toys Inc., TOPPS published in USA.

3.  The 214 cards themselves are in good to excellent condition, no damage observed.

However the BOX is in fair condition, please see photo; is original & usable but not what I would consider "collectible".
