This magnificent antique French pediment would originally have come from an armoire or a mirror and dates from the 1800's. It would look stunning over a doorway or as a centre piece on a curtain pelmet. Fixed above a bed it could form part of a ciel de lit from which to drape curtains. It would also look superb on a console table displayed with other architectural treasures.
It is made of gilded metal. It has a striking central face to either side of which is a charming cherub. Laurel leaf garlands & an acanthus leaf flourish to both sides complete this stunning piece.
The gilding has patinated over the years to a wonderful antique finish.
There are 5 holes in the mount for attaching to a wall.
The mount measures:- 40 cm (16.75 inches) wide x 13 cm (5.1 inches) high.

and have verified its condition, we will issue the refund .
