Rust and Rot ~ Purveyors of wonderful things.

Welcome to the sale of this elegant old fire screen.

Dating from the mid 19th century this fire screen has an unusual demi lune shape. It is constructed with a metal base supporting iron vertical rods that connect to the brass top rail. The outer face is then covered with a wire mesh. This older type of screen has a vertical rectangular type of mesh rather than a diamond pattern. Ideal for keeping children and pets away from fires and woodburners, as well as keeping sparks contained from open fires.

In good condition commensurate with its age and use. Has been re painted at some point, light tarnishing to the brass and minor surface rust to the base. Please have a good look at the photographs as they form part of the description and contact me if you have any further questions.

The fender measures (in cm)  46 tall, 71 wide and 31 deep.  It weighs 6.3kg
