FOSSiBOT F116 Pro Review: A Tiny Rugged Phone With Serious Creative Ambitions

The FOSSiBOT F116 Pro is one of the most unusual rugged smartphones released in 2026. 
At first glance, it looks like a compact tough phone built for outdoor use, 
but the moment you dig into its features, it becomes clear that FOSSiBOT is aiming 
for something more ambitious: a mini rugged smartphone that can also work like 
an action camera and a pocketable creator tool.

That combination is what makes the F116 Pro stand out. 
Instead of chasing the typical rugged-phone formula of huge battery, 
oversized body, and basic cameras, FOSSiBOT has chosen a much smaller 4.05-inch form factor, 
a modern Dimensity 7300 chipset, 5G support, a 120Hz display, 
and a 48MP ultra-wide camera with action-camera positioning. 
In other words, this is a niche device — but a very clever one.

Camera system and action use
The camera setup is arguably the most interesting part of the F116 Pro. 
The main rear camera is a 50MP SK Hynix Hi-5021Q sensor, 
but the real star is the 48MP Sony IMX586 ultra-wide camera with 152.6° field of view and OIS. 
That ultra-wide unit is the one FOSSiBOT is promoting as the action-camera-style shooter.
