When the vehicle starts cold, the secondary air pump delivers fresh air into the exhaust manifold to quickly heat up the

catalytic converter. This valve is a one-way check valve that prevents high-temperature exhaust gas from flowing backward

and burning out the air pump. A faulty valve will trigger trouble code P0410.

 

Note:

This part A0021407460 only fits vehicles with M272 V6 engine (2.5L/3.0L/3.5L) including CLK350 2006-2009.

It does NOT fit CLK550, CL550, CLS550, these models are equipped with M273 5.5L V8 engine, they require a different

secondary air check valve with part number A0021407560.
