For your consideration is a circa 1880-1920's made in France brass pocket compass. Produced and  used across both WWI and WWII. Features: Blued steel needle with locking mechanism. Beveled glass face cover. Works fine. High quality compass that has endured the test of time.
P.S. There is a No.42 on the inside brass case. I do not believe that is means 1942, but rather a size measurement or part number?
