NFL QUARTERBACK METAL LUNCHBOX AND METAL/GLASS THERMOS from Aladdin Industries 1964. This very rare R-7 embossed kit features a pass play between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers on the front panel – and a field goal (or extra point) attempt between the New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns on the back. The rim panels depict players in classic football card poses from the 14 NFL teams present when this box was made - along with the team logos. Rounding out this amazing piece by the master himself, AL art director Elmer Lehnhardt (who invented the “deep-relief 3-D embossing” featured on the main panels of this box), is the thermos showing 11 different penalty signals by the referee. By far the best football- themed lunchkit in my mind – and a must-have for the football fan with or without a man-cave to display this classic!
Condition: Box and Thermos are complete and correct (including the original wire thermos holder). Box lithos are clean and glossy throughout with no blemishes to the raised areas of the main front and rear panels so typical with these vintage embossed boxes. Rim panels are also clean and glossy with only minor rubbings. Light general rim wear - with no corner dents or dimples. Metal hardware is nice and shiny. Inside of box is has rubbings and blemishes - with no previous owner markings. Box in overall Excellent C-8 condition. Thermos lithos are clean and glossy throughout with a small dent and blemish on front near "Score" call - a light rattle when shaken - with nice shiny bottom - in overall Excellent C-8 condition.
