Unlike the massive, heavy spears used specifically for defense against large apex predators, this compact style is a highly portable tracking weapon carried daily through the East African bush for personal safety and hunting small game. It features a classic three-piece assembly: a hand-forged iron leaf-shaped blade with a prominent central reinforcing rib, a short hardwood middle grip section, and a pointed iron counterweight tail spike. Both metal ends are friction-fitted tightly into the wood.Condition:Good vintage condition. The hand-wrought iron components show a beautiful deep aged patina and minor surface oxidation consistent with authentic ethnographic use. Sockets are firm and intact.
