This is a 1998 vintage character Archer Gorgonite Action Figure.
Released by Hasbro and its Kenner subsidiary in 1998, the
film Small Soldiers. As the noble, pacifist leader of the misunderstood
Gorgonites, Archer became a 90s pop-culture icon representing the
movie’s central theme of finding peace amidst a toy war.
In the 1998 film Small Soldiers, the Gorgonites are a faction of sentient,
highly intelligent action figures designed by toy maker Irwin Wayfair. Archer’s
design—created by the legendary Stan Winston Studio—was a deliberate
departure from the aggressive, military aesthetic of the antagonist Commando
Elite. Lead designer Joey Orosco modeled Archer after majestic animals like
the lion, blending human features with nature-inspired, tribal elements to reflect
the character's peaceful, dignified nature.
