Re-Listed due non payment (twice) - The clarinet and case are unbranded, however the expert advice I have received suggests the following: PRE-1890’s, French 2 ring. Simple Albert System as indicated by the RH pinky keys. The timeframe would also suggest a likely maker of JLT or Couesnon amongst others. it’s only marking are a B on both joints but it is probably high pitch and n made of rosewood. It is contained in a fantastic velvet lined wooden case of a similar age. This is a rare historical piece worthy of a museum or enthusiastic collector. It is difficult to play requiring a lot of puff, which would probably benefit from a repair. This clarinet is in very good condition, and is an excellent candidate for restoration. All keys work and are in good shape. There are a couple of nicks and scuffs. The barrel is stuck and I have not attempted to remove (needs a professional touch) . While it’s probably a minor note, the ligature on the mouthpiece will need replaced. This clarinet would benefit from a serviced, cleaned, and re-padded/re-corked, but it’s an excellent candidate for this restoration. See photos of this historic instrument, even the wooden mouthpiece cap looks fantastic. This is not just a clarinet it’s a highly collectables piece of history .
