This listing is for one vintage hotel china ashtray made by Royal Doulton. The piece features a white body with three cigarette rests, beautifully decorated with an intricate blue transferware design of heraldic dragons around the outer rim.
The back bears the black "Royal Doulton Hotelware England Steelite" maker's mark featuring the traditional lion and crown logo. This specific Royal Doulton backstamp was used from 1978 to 1983. The Steelite line was formulated specifically to provide exceptional durability to withstand the rigorous daily demands of commercial hotels and restaurants. I have been unable to confirm which hotel this ashtray would have been used at.
This ashtray measures 5" wide and 3/4" high.
This is a previously owned item in good condition. No chips or cracks. There are some light scuffing marks across the surface. Please click on the images for more information and to help with your decision.
