This is a superb antique French wasp waisted dressmaker's mannequin dating from the 19th Century. It is of adult size but is very petite and has a tiny 21 inch (53.5 cm) waist.
She is very decorative and would be a wonderful addition to a shop diplay or a château chic boudoir interior.
Her body is covered in linen which has darkened with the passage of time. The linen is intact with just a little scuffing at the bottom. At her neck is ebonised wood which has had a little worm in the past but is now stable.
The mannequin would once have had a stand but that has now long gone.
The mannequin has the fashionable shape of gowns of the time with a slightly squashed bosom, tiny waist and slightly protruding derriere.
Her vital statistics are :- Bust 35.8 inches (91 cm), Waist 21 inches (53.5 cm), Hips at the very bottom of the mannequin, 41.3 inches (105 cm). She stands 27.5 inches (70 cm) high.
