Dark maroon hardcover, 8.5 x 11, typescript copy, with illustrations and music along with stories. No date, 1950s-60s? Excellent, clean condition. According to the foreward, Moench and family and friends put on plays from these stories, with costumes, music etc., appearing on television 9 times (KTVT), traveling to hospitals, etc. This book adaptation is a typescript, with music and simple illustrations - quite delightful actually, really captures the era/genre well. Scarce, likely produced for family and close friends only.
Some additional info from Moench's obituary - she died in 2004 at the age of 90, a lifelong Utahn.
"Some of our fondest memories are of her story telling -- fairy tales,
fables, moral stories, and life stories of forefathers and foremothers
she venerated. She illustrated her stories with pen and ink, water
colors, oils, and larger-than-life paper mache' masks and handsewn
colorful costumery from a trunk that became a treasure trove. From
paper, cloth and clay she sculpted angels, demons, fairies, flowers,
toys, animals, human-size dolls, and Santa Clause. She created
children's stories for television, church road shows, entertainment for
pediatric hospitals, and musical productions and generated floats for
the Days of '47 Parades. She saw to it that every kid in the
neighborhood had a chance to shine."
