Vintage Zapotec Geometric Handwoven Loomed Wool Textile Table Rug Matt. Vibrant contrasting Red and Black Colorway. Measures roughly 16.5” Length / Height x 12” Width (excluding fringe).

Vintage Wool Woven Indigenous Southwest Zapotec Geometric Aztec Table (or Doll) Rug / Matt Textile. Zapotec Indians hand-weave each piece in small villages around the Oaxacan Valley of Southern Mexico. All items are authentic 100% wool and are hand-woven using the classic Spanish floor looms. The wool is spun and carded by hand, and then dyed in large pots over open fires. Colors are created from vegetable and aniline dyes. The Zapotec Indians are famous for their weavings.

Textile listing is for well suited for other projects such as: Apparel accessories; hats, purses & totes, bags, and clothing piecing, or home decor projects; wall art, pillow covers, or kitchen accessories. Yardstick ruler or scissors are not included - added for perspective.

CONDITION
As found in original new/old stock condition. PLEASE NOTE: Last picture shows one yarn area that appears not to have been dyed (white). Discoloration is indicative of the nature of the hand dyed yarns loomed by hand and any minor signs of wear are consistent with age, adding to its vintage rustic charm. We do not deep clean vintage items to preserve the integrity of the item. Measurement or Display items are not included in sale. Please take a careful look at the photos before purchase.
