Two bound volumes of The Strand Magazine, US Edition, containing the first appearance of "The Hound of the Baskervilles: Another Adventure of Sherlock Holmes" by (Arthur) Conan Doyle, serialized and complete across both volumes. The story begins in the Vol. 22, No. 128, September 1901 and ends in Vol. 23, No. 138, August 1902. The American Edition was one month behind the publication of the UK Edition. Each volume contains 6 monthly editions of the magazine: Volume 22-No. 127-132, August 1901-January 1902 and Volume 23 - No.133-138, February 1902 - July 1902. Illustrated throughout with black and white illustrations and photographs. 720 pages in each volume, 6.75 x 9.75 inches. 

Half bound in black cloth and red leather, gilt stamped on spine. 

Both volumes have cover wear on edges, holes in the binding on the front cover, and spine end chips. Volume 23 is more severe in size of chips. Pencil notations on FFE's and RFE's of both volumes. Page 527 in Volume 23 has a long tear across it which is repaired with tape.
