The Model
A 1:43 scale diecast model of the Williams Renault FW16 as run by David Coulthard, race number 2, during the 1994 Formula One season. Made by Onyx (Onyx-Minibri Ltd, Portugal), reference 202B. The model is finished in the white, blue and gold Williams livery with elf and Renault branding, mounted on the printed Onyx plinth inside the original acrylic display case, which is the factory retail packaging for this range.
Condition
The model itself is in good order, with the aerial, front and rear wings and mirrors all present and the decals intact. There is light surface dust on the nose and front wing area, loose and on the surface only. The acrylic case shows light scratching consistent with normal handling, and there is a stress mark to one corner of the case, shown close-up in the photos. The plinth is present and clean. The Real Car
The Williams FW16 was the team's 1994 challenger, powered by the Renault RS6 3.5-litre V10 and run in partnership with elf. David Coulthard made his Formula One debut in the #2 car during the 1994 season, sharing the seat with Nigel Mansell across the year. The FW16 was developed significantly through the season into the FW16B, and the design formed the basis of Williams' return to title-winning form in the seasons that followed.
