Guaranteed old and original. This is a true road-used example with honest age and wear. Constructed of heavy cast aluminum, the sign features raised “N.J.” lettering, raised route numerals, original paint, and outstanding display appeal.

This sign is so popular, many reproductions exist, but the material and construction composition is notably different from the real signs.

This example is exceptionally heavy at nearly ten (10) pounds of solid cast aluminum construction with no cracks, chips or alterations.

What makes Route 69 especially desirable is its unique history. Due to widespread theft and vandalism of Route 69 markers, New Jersey eventually renumbered the highway in the late 1960s. Contemporary reports documented hundreds of Route 69 signs being stolen or replaced, making surviving original examples increasingly difficult to find today.

The reverse retains visible ghosting and mounting evidence from the post where it was originally installed, further supporting its authenticity and long-term highway use.
