This auction is for 10 comics co-created by me, Steve Peters: The Comicverse #4 and #5, Comicverse: Subspace Chatter #1, #2, and #3, Comicverse: Behind the Counter #1 and #2, Parallel Comicverses #1, and Rabbit Hell Digest #1/#2 (double issue) and Rabbit Hell Digest #3/#4 (double issue).

Written by Bianca Alu-Marr and illustrated by Steve Peters, The Comicverse is a sci-fi humor series about a comic book shop in a mall in a space space station.  In The Comicverse #4, the station is attacked by aliens and the characters are forced to take refuge in the cargo hold of a military peacekeeping ship. This issue marks a move to longer, more thoughtful stories. Writer Adam McGovern said of this issue: "The Comicverse #4 is as small as an Archie digest comic, and has as big a heart. And like the recent transport of that franchise to modern worlds of identity politics, marriage, death, and zombies, [this] Comicverse issue isn't afraid to send its characters into some danger that tests their confidence and values".

The Comicverse #5 asks the question: "What would you do if you only had 24 hours to live"? The main Comicverse characters meet their duplicates and find out that only one of each of them is real and the other is a shadow that will disappear in a day, but there is no way to tell whi is which. They set out to live out what could be their last hours to the fullest.

In Comicverse: Subspace Chatter #1, the Comicverse characters take a break from their comedic sci-fi adventures to do a nerd culture podcast, transmitted straight from the comic book shop on the Final Frontier. They review old sci-fi shows like Space: 1999 and Star Trek: The Next Generation, tackle the latest comic book controversies (such as Captain America working for Hydra, the woman-only screening of the Wonder Woman movie, and Doctor Who being cast as a woman), and satirize indy comics (such as Max Ink's Blink and Cerebus In Hell).

In Subspace Chatter #2, we somehow ended up with an entire issue made up of stories and reviews about either Star Trek or Star Wars. So for our opening piece, we decided to post that age-old question: Star Trek or Star Wars? Bianca wrote responses for many of the Comicverse characters, but we added to the piece by posing the question to followers of the Comicverse Facebook page. Carrying on the tradition started in the first issue, we turned these readers into Comicverse aliens for this piece. We also turned to our readers for the next story/"podcast"---the Han Solo movie was about to come out and had yet to be given a title. So we asked our readers to come up with a name for the movie using only quotes from the original Star Wars trilogy, with predictably hilarious results! "Barclay Day" starts out with Rei and Ying doing a podcast entirely devoted to Star Trek's cult favorite character, Lieutenant Barclay. Ying soon finds himself in a Groundhog Day-type situation, reliving the day of the podcast over and over. He finally decides to create a hologram of Lt. Barclay in order to ask him for advice on how to get out of his predicament. For our last two pieces, we turned to our artist friends, and I did a number of illustrations in my finely crosshatched style. The first one is a review of the classic Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Mirror Universe episode, "Crossover". As with the Space: 1999 review in Subspace Chatter #1, Ying finds himself experiencing the same events as in the episode---when he sees the normally grouchy Rei with a goatee and in a great mood, he begins to realize he's been transported to the Mirror Universe! Steve's longtime pal Anthony Casperite drew 3 panels in his wonderful Bill Sienkewicz/Jim Mahfood-type style, plus we got great contributions from Lee Thacker, Max Ink, and Flor de Canela. Finally, Rei and Ying do a review of "The Last Jedi". Much like the fans, they have very mixed feelings about the movie. Dre Grigoropol and Corey Bechelli both kindly delivered several illustrations of various TLJ scenes, plus we got single panels from Lee Thacker, Mike Sgier, Bryan Douglas, and Brian Payne.

Subspace Chatter #3 was inspired by the pandemic and finds Rei and Ying doing their podcast from the security of their apartment. They do a spacecast about the viruses of Star Trek, which was dubbed "Trek Goes Viral." "Sig City Social Club" is inspired by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine actor Alexander Siddig's Sid City Social Club, a twice-weekly Zoom meeting in which Sid talks to his fans one on one. Finally, "Sin Kevitch Challenge" is inspired by the Bill Sienkiewicz challenge (Google it if not familiar!). Steve drew a number of versions and got friends to draw some as well. Guest participants in the challenge were James windsor-Smith, Lee Thacker, David Branstetter, Michael Anthony Carroll, Anthony Casperite, Matt Dow, and Corey Bechelli. Steve did drawings in the styles of other artists like Michael Golden, Shannon Wheeler, Brian Payne, Dave Sim, Jim Woodring, and Moebius.

Comicverse: Behind The Counter #1 is a spinoff series that is a behind the scenes look at the Comicverse world illustrated by guest artists who all bring their own unique visual interpretations of the characters and settings. Contributions include a 30-page story set in ancient China called "The Dragon's Pearl" drwan by Argentine artist Daniel Sponton, a 6-page piece about Comicverse's weird and wonderful alien customers drawn by Brian Payne, a 3-page story drawn by Dre Grigoropol, and a pinup by Hans Rickheit.

Comicverse: Behind The Counter #2 is a much larger book following the same premise as the first issue, with the addition of several prose stories about the various aliens on the station. James Windsor-Smith draws a comic about out of shape superheroes, Robin barnard recreates an old Steve Ditko sci-fi comic and a Hostess Twinkie ad, Corey Bechelli draws Ying visiting the astral plane. Lee Thacker illustrates haiku written by Rei in the food court, and Dre Grigoropol draws a lighthearted 8-page Arthurian-themed comic. Finally, the book contains a gallery of sketches celebrating The Comicverse's first ten years, with art by Eric Battle, Phil Foglio, Matt Feazell, Pam Bliss, Lee Thacker, James Windsor-Smith, Bob Corby, Dre Grigoropol, Jeff Peters, Angela Sprecher, E.J. Barnes, Evette Langford, James Koebel, Brian Payne, Alyssa Lou Allen, and Duncan Shea.
Parallel Comicverses #1 is my spinoff series and focuses on three things I'm passionate about: Star Wars, the music of a band called Yes, and comic books, most specifically, Cerebus. It includes an 18-page homage/parody of Star Wars written by Bianca and drawn by myself and a host of guest artists: Samuel Alexander, Corey Bechelli, Dre Grigoropol, Flor de Canela, Max Ink, Brian Payne, Bob Pistilli, Daniel Sponton, Joe Tedesco, Lee Thacker, Raphael Tiberino, Jason Young, and Caitlin Zellers. There's also a story about a cosmic experience at a Yes concert, and a 16-page story called "Cerberus [not a typo] Conquers The Universe!" written by Cerebus' creator himself, Dave Sim.

Rabbit Hell Digest #1/#2 is a double issue flip-book remastering the first 2 issues of my 1990's mini-comic. #1 includes an introduction to the Rabbit Hell characters, who live in 'Toon Hell.  There is also a parody of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson as a chimp and Ed McMahon as a pig, in which the Rabbit Hell characters appear as guests.  #2's cover describes this issue as "Halloween On Acid", though it could probably be more accurately described as "'Toons On Acid".  In the real world, Sarah and her friend Kat drop acid.  Since the cartoon world of Rabbit Hell exists inside Sarah's mind, it is affected as well.  In the Dreamworld, Doctor Dream and his dream team struggle to get Rabbit Hell back to normal before it rips itself apart. Includes an illustration by Eric Battle.

Rabbit Hell Digest #3/#4 is a double issue flip-book again remastering the next 2 issues of my 1990's mini-comic. #3 features a story called "The Coming of the Cartoon Messiah", in which Bell the Dog is crucified on a cactus, which somehow gives him magical abilities.  He declares himself the savior of Rabbit Hell and immediately begins to abuse his powers. There is also a brief appearance by my childhood characters, the Super Rodents (see my series Awakening Comics, also available among my other eBay listings). #4 features a cover by by Eric Battle, who went on to greater things---he worked for Marvel and DC on such titles as Cable, Green Arrow, Batgirl, Tales of the Unexpected, the Tarzan sydicated strip, and many, many more comix. In this issue, we learn more about Sarah, who lives in the real world and believes she used to watch Rabbit Hell cartoons when she was a little girl.  Also, Rabbit Hell's reality begins to unravel, leading to some full-page collages of surreal artwork.

I am happy to list any of these comics by itself on eBay. Message me to let me know which one you're interested in and I will create a listing for you.

"My people Bianca Alu-Marr and Steve Peters have been putting out quality #creatorowned #Comics for some time now (Awakening Comics celebrates its 20th year anniversary this year) and I think I've known Steve almost as long, beginning with doing some panels in his SPARKY narrative corpse comics. Fast forward to the present, where I recently was fortunate enough to table near them at a con and got caught up on a bunch of issues I missed. Great work! Go support!"
