This auction is for 5 comics co-created by me, Steve Peters: The Comicverse #1-#5.
Written by Bianca Alu-Marr and illustrated by Steve Peters, The Comicverse is a sci-fi humor series about a comic book shop in a mall in a space space station. Reiko Starr (A.K.A. Rei, pronounced “Ray”) is the proprietor and owner of the shop, and is assisted by his adopted comrade Ying, a fun loving Chinese dragon. They meet a tough, feisty, and beautiful cargo pilot named Aki and a love triangle soon evolves.
The Comicverse #1 features four self-contained short stories. The first story is an introduction to the characters and the space station the futuristic comic shop is in. Rei has that classic comic book argument with a customer: which two famous Earth comic book characters would win in a fight. Meanwhile, Ying dreams about rainbows that rain and fighting with fire. Aki is introduced when she comes to the shop in the middle of a blackout caused by a solar storm, and Rei and Ying fall in love. A more surreal story follows Rei, Ying and Aki’s dreams, which all seem to be intertwined with one another due to interference by strange subatomic aliens. A final a story set at a robot convention in the space mall finds Rei and Ying are trying to drum up business for the shop, and things go awry when Ying decides to explore on his own and gets into a fight with a robot dragon over a beautiful woman.
In The Comicverse #2, the comic shop on the final frontier is visited by a creature who has a bad reaction to an alien energy drink. The confused creature soon goes crazy, shape-changing into the characters in the comics in the store, wreaking havoc and tearing the store apart! The situation soon goes even more out of control as guests begin to wander in at the worst possible time!
The Comicverse #3 is an exciting step forward in the development of the series. The main story, "Earth", is our longest piece to date, and it features several firsts: the first date between main characters Rei and Aki, the first time Ying has ever met another dragon besides himself, shedding some light on the role of dragons in the Comicverse universe, the first view of the Comicverse space station's ecological ring, which has some interesting and humorous features, the series' first-ever wordless story in a short piece called "Air", which shows what happens when the air is sucked out of the Comicverse into space---a very dangerous situation!---and Comicverse's first guest appearance by a known comics creator: a 1-page piece by Fred Hembeck.
In The Comicverse #4, the station is attacked by aliens and the characters are forced to take refuge in the cargo hold of a military peacekeeping ship. This issue marks a move to longer, more thoughtful stories. Writer Adam McGovern said of this issue: "The Comicverse #4 is as small as an Archie digest comic, and has as big a heart. And like the recent transport of that franchise to modern worlds of identity politics, marriage, death, and zombies, [this] Comicverse issue isn't afraid to send its characters into some danger that tests their confidence and values".
The Comicverse #5 asks the question: "What would you do if you only had 24 hours to live"? The main Comicverse characters meet their duplicates and find out that only one of each of them is real and the other is a shadow that will disappear in a day, but there is no way to tell whi is which. They set out to live out what could be their last hours to the fullest.

"My people Bianca Alu-Marr and Steve Peters have been putting out quality #creatorowned #Comics for some time now (Awakening Comics celebrates its 20th year anniversary this year) and I think I've known Steve almost as long, beginning with doing some panels in his SPARKY narrative corpse comics. Fast forward to the present, where I recently was fortunate enough to table near them at a con and got caught up on a bunch of issues I missed. Great work! Go support!"
