This is what I believe to be a vintage Chinese hand-carved stone horse sculpture. It is stylized as a galloping stallion or running horse, a popular theme in traditional Chinese art representing strength, speed, success and prosperity.

Statues of this specific style and marbled gray coloration are commonly carved out of high-quality soapstone (often referred to as Shoushan stone) or marble/jade variations.

The figure features a dynamic, muscular posture with a detailed mane and tail frozen in motion, typical of mid-to-late 20th-century Asian export art and collectibles. The piece stands on an integrated, openwork carved stone base featuring traditional stylized cloud patterns or open geometric scrollwork.

It measures 7” wide at the bottom base 7 3/4” tall ….and the horse is about 8 inches wide. It is in nice vintage condition. Please see many photos for more details and close-ups as they are a part of my description.
