Extremely rare black vintage ALVORADA 45 RPM record adapter from Portugal.

This listing is for one original ALVORADA 45 RPM record adapter as shown in the photos. The adapter is marked "ALVORADA" and was produced by Fabrica Portuguesa de Discos (F.P.D.), one of Portugal's earliest industrial record pressing operations.

These adapters are exceptionally difficult to find and rarely appear on the collector market. While millions of generic 45 RPM adapters were produced around the world, adapters carrying the name of a specific Portuguese record label are seldom encountered. This makes the piece appealing not only to record collectors but also to collectors of international music memorabilia and record industry history.

From the research I have been able to locate, Fabrica Portuguesa de Discos was founded in 1947 and is considered Portugal's first industrial record pressing plant. The company initially produced records under the Melodia label before later operating under the Alvorada label. During the Alvorada era, these distinctive adapters were produced for use with the company's 45 RPM records.

The reverse side is marked "Fabrica Portuguesa de Discos," which translates roughly to "Manufactures Portuguese Discs." The company was commonly known as F.P.D.

Finding an adapter from a major American label is difficult enough. Finding one tied to an early Portuguese pressing plant is considerably harder. Many collectors may never encounter an original Alvorada adapter, making this a genuinely scarce piece of record collecting history.
